I have read and discussed more than 100 books in the book clubs I host since 2019. Experiencing the different opinions of a diverse group of readers has been a highly enriching and rewarding experience for me.
I host an English book club for women within the Frauenakademie, the Women’s Academy of the Ulmer Volkshochschule @vh.ulm a public adult eduction institution. You are welcome to join even if you do not live in Ulm, Germany.
We discuss one book each session. We have read a very diverse list of titles, find it here.
We meet via Zoom four times per semester and read books originally written in English.
This semester we will read books about chosen families, real or fictional. Our first book is “The Emperor of Gladness” by Ocean Vuong. The next titles will be selected by the group.
Our meeting dates are on Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 pm CET on October 10 (The Emperor of Gladness), November 05, December 03 and January 14.
You are welcome to sign up for the ongoing semester at any time, we discuss a different book in each session.
